Sammi believes that swimming is about building self-confidence and developing a positive relationship with the water. She strives to create a learning environment where my swimmers feel comfortable and supported, and where they can discover the joy of swimming.

Hayley

Hayley is happiest in or on the water, be it swimming or paddeboarding, so when the opportunity arose to teach swimming over 7 years ago she jumped at the chance! Hayley is qualified to teach from newborns full circle to pregnancy aquanatal and has never looked back.

She likes to make her classes fun but also tailored to the needs of each class or child and strongly believes learning to swim is an important life skill that can benefit everyone in some way.

Kelly

Kelly first qualified as a swimming teacher over 12 years ago. She loves how rewarding teaching swimming is especially getting swimmers over the hurdle of taking their first strokes fully unaided. Kelly is very passionate about a child led approach and allowing babies and children the freedom the feel in the water and learn in their own time.

Bex

Bex Started her swimming journey 12 years ago after she enquired to help at her local swimming pool of a weekend starting out at reception duties, she then went on to start her swimming career in the pool and within the year she was qualified to help out as an assistant and then went on to qualify to teach her own lessons.

Since then, she has qualified as a lifeguard and has completed Aqua Sensory training. Bex still enjoys learning new and exciting things about teaching and particularly enjoys teaching groups as swimming is a very important life skill and loves seeing the progression in the swimmers no matter how big or small along with how they grow in confidence, not only swimming, but as people.

Jill

Jill made a career change to become a swimming teacher and has been with Get In The Swim since 2019. Learning to swim opened up watersports to Jill, such as windsurfing and waterskiing. She hopes that by helping others to be confident and skilled in the water, they too can safely enjoy all the fun activities aquatics offers. Jill is Aqua Sensory aware plus qualified to deliver lessons to babies, toddlers and participants with disabilities.

We love Jill’s fun approach and we literally cannot sit on the side watching her teach without a smile because she is funny and entertaining when she teaches.

Liz

Liz decide to become a swimming teacher, as she first learnt to swim at the age of 11 years old and only learnt her full strokes when she started her swimming teacher journey back in 1999. Since then she has qualifications for adult & child, pre-school, aqua aerobics, mermaid swimming, adults, diving, lifeguard and pool plant operations.

With years of experience working for leisure centres, school swimming and private swim schools, she took over Get In The Swim back in 2007.

In 2017 she took on the refurbishment and now runs Meadgate Pool.

Kay

Kay has always loved being near water and swimming since a very young age. When she was a teaching assistant at a primary school in 2000, she was approached by a swim school who asked if she would like to transfer her skills into teaching swimming which followed by Kay becoming a qualified swimming teacher. Kay has worked for several swim schools and loves learning new skills and currently broadening her swimming teaching skills with Aqua Sensory training courses.

Stacey

After working in a leisure centre in various roles from lifeguarding to leisure management for 10 years, Stacey started teaching swimming just over 8 years ago. She always seeks to develop her own knowledge and further expanded her expertise by qualifying as a parent and child teacher shortly afterwards. She has lots of experience in teaching various abilities and ages.

Stacey believes in making learning to swim fun and engaging, creating an environment where children not only feel happy to learn but also gain the confidence to develop a lifelong love for the water. She loves to see children progress into strong, confident swimmers which makes the job even more satisfying!
